INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS
ACTA FACULTATIS MEDICAE NAISSENSIS is
an open acees journal and the official journal of the Niš University
Faculty of Medicine. It publishes review articles, original scientific papers,
professional contributions, case reports, and reports on diagnostic and
therapeutic procedures pertaining to a specific medical problem treated through
a multidisciplinary approach.
All papers should be submitted in English on-line or via the following e-mails: firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com. The manuscript should be typed on one side only of A4 paper, in MS Word, double-spaced, using 2.5cm wide margins all around and Times New Roman 12 font.
The text is arranged as follows: (1) title page, (2) abstract, key words (3) introduction, (4) material and methods, (5) results, (6) discussion, (7) conclusion, (8) acknowledgement, (9) references, (10) appendices, (11) text tables, and (12) figure legends.
Please supply the names, addresses and e-mails of three referees to whom your manuscript may be sent for review. The editors keep the right to choose reviewers other than suggested by authors.
The review is blind. The accepted articles undergo extensive editorial and technical review prior to publication.
Title page contains: (1) title, (2) name(s) of the author(s), (3) institution(s) where work was done, (4) address of the first author including telephone number, fax number and e-mail address, and (5) authors to whom proofs should be sent with complete address, telephone number, fax number and e-mail address if possible.
The main abstract should be maximum 250 words, double-spaced and on a separate page, and submitted in both English and Serbian. For authors other than Serbian and Montenegrin, Serbian translation of their abstracts will be provided.
The abstract should be contain: (a) aims, (b) material and methods, (c) results, (d) discussion e) conclusion.
Key words: no more than five key words are required.
Abbreviations other than standard SI units of measurements are not used.
Every reference, figure and table is cited in the text in numerical order.
References (up to 15) are identified in the text by Arabic numerals and numbered in order cited. References are double spaced on sheets separate from the text in the Vancouver style.

All illustrations are identified on the back with figure number in Arabic numerals, title of paper, and name of the first author. Top should be indicated with an arrow.
Tables are typed double-spaced on separate sheets with the table number (in Arabic numerals) and
title above and explanatory notes below.
Figure legends are typed double-spaced on sheets separate from the text.
The study should comply with the Declaration of Helsinki.

The Journal ACTA FACULTATIS MEDICAE NAISSENSIS is the official journal of the Niš University Faculty of Medicine. It publishes review articles, original scientific papers, professional contributions, case reports, and reports on therapeutic and diagnostic proce-dures pertaining to a specific medical problem treated through a multidisciplinary appro-ach. The Journal serves the interest of all professionals concerned with these topics. By design, the Journal is international and multidisciplinary in its approach, and the members of the Editorial Board take an active role in the Journal's mission. Prospective authors are encouraged to consult with the editors and members of the Editorial Board with any in-quiries. The editors encourage the submission of articles from developing countries.
Articles are not to be published previously and not being considered for publication else-where. Submission of a manuscript to the Journal gives the publisher the right to publish that paper if it is accepted, and the copyright of the manuscript becomes the property of the publisher.
Authors must ensure that their studies comply with appropriate institutional and national guidelines for ethical matters. Specifically, by submission of a manuscript, the authors are responsible for compliance with guidelines and regulations of the authors' institution and all appropriate governmental agencies.
Articles including human subjects must include a statement that informed consent was ob-tained and that the study was reviewed and approved by the Ethical Committee of the Fa-culty of Medicine in Niš on Human Experimentation. Articles including animal experimen-tation must conform to the principles of the Ethical Committee of the Faculty of Medicine in Niš for Work with Experimental Animals and a statement acknowledging conformation to these standards must be included in the Materials and methods section of the manu-script. Authors are also requested to identify possible conflicts of interest, especially as it relates to commercial sponsorship or equity holdings.
