The paper presents a clinic image, course and curing of ihe Quincke edema manifested in swollen eye lids in a 51 years old female patient. It appeared 10 minutes after an injection application of non-ionic iodic contrast agent (ICA) (iopromide; Ultravist 300® - Scheving) at urography. The authors point to the fact that the application of non-ionic ICA does not provide for absolute patients' protection; on the contrary, even these ICA can lead to a serious reaction. Moreover, they stress the importance of knowing possible complications at applving ionic contrast agents as well as to the importance of possessing anti-shock therapy and equipment.
