OUR EXPERIENCE IN TREATING SINUSITIS IN CHILDREN AND YOUTH

The experiences in treating sinusitis in 30 children and young men are presented. The patients age was within the range from 7 to 18. There were 16 boys and 14 girls. All the patients were examined in the clinic approach, that is, by the front rhinoscopiy; the laboratory analyses were done as well as the biogram and the antibiogram of the nose beside x-raying of the paranasal cavities in the oxyphytomental position and sinusoscopy. The ophtalmological and the pediatric examinations were also carried out. Nine patients underwent the maxillary sinus trephination according to Caldwell-Luc; two patients underwent external ethmoidectomy while one patient underwent the frontal sinus trephination according to Ruttemburg as well as endonasal back ethmoidectomy. The conservative treatment was given to 18 patients. A surgical intervention was done on 12 patients. All the patients were successfully treated.
