Michael Idvorsky Pupin (Mihajlo Idvorski Pupin) was born in Idvor, Serbia, on the 9th  of October in 1954, and died of renal failure on the 12th of March in 1935 in New York City. Pupin is the father of American radiology. On the 2nd of January in 1896, Pupin took the first X-ray photography made in USA and discovered the secondary X-ray radiation. Pupin announced the discovery of secondary X-radiation, which reduced the exposure of a patient to X-rays, from 1 hour to several seconds (April 6, 1896). Acta Medica Medianae 2005;44(4):89 – 91.
