Oral anticoagulant therapy (OAT) has been used for more than half a century in the management and prevention of thromoembolic disorders. Due to somewhat awkward phenomena accompanying anticoagulant therapy during dental-surgical interventions, dentists have to be well acquainted with the characteristics of the therapy and the measures to be undertaken in the management of patients on OAT. This paper aims to present a short overview of the procedures and measures to be undertaken by a dentist in the management of patients on OAT. Acta Medica Medianae 2013;52(1):48-51.
