BRIEF REVIEW OF ETHISORB® USAGE IN OROFACIAL SURGERY

   Abstract

 

Polyglycolic acid/poly-L-lactid acid (PGA/PLLA) copolymer has been started to use in imminent past in orofacial surgery with name Ethisorb ®. In this work there have been described basic biological, physical and chemical characteristics of Ethisorb®, way of its production as well as its usage in medicine. There has been also described usage of Ethisorb® in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Authors gave their basic experiences about usage of Ethisorb® at patients with oro-antral comunication and hemophilia A. In process of usage of Ethisorb® at mentioneed patients, Ethisorb® showed itself as an efficient implanted material with minimal complications till these days.
