...Abstract | |
With one analysis of place, manner and frequency of sounds in their articulation at physiological conditions, it is found that consonant mechanisms of articulation are harder than wovels, expectualy mechanism of articulation of "really" consonants. Anterior teeth, alveolar ridge and frontal palatal region are static structures in mouth the most frequently interfered in their articulation. These structures maybe frequently altered by insertion of prothesis, therefore the placing the anterior upper teeth, form, thickness and contour of the plate are main factors on which dentist must pay attention in the denture construction. Neglecting of these factors may resulting in altered place or manner of articulation of "really" consonants. From aspect of acoustics, each of these changes faced with distortion or substitution of this sounds. (Acta Stom Naissi 1999;16:11-20) |
