...Abstract

Trend of nowadays reconstructive surgery of head and neck are reconstructions of deffects by saim or simullar tissues. Special problems are presented by defects in intraoral regions. Big number of authors from ancient times had worked on these problems. On Department for Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic for Stomatology in Nis, in period 1994 - 1998 on 22 patients with intraoral defects, reconstruction with artherial flap with distal vascularisation on a. buccalis, was performed. In 16 patients defect was created by tumor ablation, in 4 patients oronasal fistula afterpalatoplastic was reconstructed and in 2 patients flap was used for closing of big oroantral comunication. Operative technique for certain buccal myomucosal flap was described, uswell us application of flap in defect. Advantages, disadvantages, and characteristics of flap were discussed and results compared with data from literature. It was concludes that myomucosal buccal flap with distal vascularisation presents indebdt flap for reconstructions of intraioral defects, lateral floor of the mouth, hard and soft palate, what can be understand by consistence and vascularistuion of flap.
