The evolution of Cerec 1-3 always genered interesting achievements 1980 through 2003 but the new 3D-software (Sirona), as an enthralling innovation, suprasses all expectations. The clarity of the 3D model and the illustrative user guidance ease the use of the Cerec CAD/CAM system dramatically, which at the same time presents optimal marginal fit and surface smoothnes of the machined restorations. The system now produces high quality inlays, veneers, partial and full crowns as well as frames for crowns and bridges, well advancing it towards representing an universal production system for all-ceramic restorations.
